Ever since building a large N gauge layout it was quickly discovered how inadequate the current N gauge NEM couplings are. Even on new stock decoupling happened on inclines, curves and even on straight and level track! This was due to the multitude of tolerances and heights the couplings sat at. Having already used magnets a lot in Wargaming we investigated the possibility of making our own magnetic couplings. Each pack of N gauge couplings contains 20 total couplings, enough for 10 pieces of rolling stock. Please note: These are not designed for automatic uncoupling as they connect magnet to magnet. 14 These are available in different lengths and come in packs of 10 pairs Currently available lengths: 7mm Short Single Magnet 9mm Medium Single Magnet 11mm Long Single Magnet 7mm Short Omni (Dual Magnet) 9mm Medium Omni (Dual Magnet) 11mm Long Omni (Dual Magnet) The omni (dual magnet) option ignores polarity problems allow stock to be turned and still couple up The single magnet option has a colour coded end to show polarity, a silver will always link with a red.
